Do you think his vent is ok?

ok. this is the proven breeded male mojo we got from BHB in arlington. we noticed after we got him that his vent looked slightly disfigured/scared on the out side. like maybe he had been over bred or had an infection in the past and it had been long healed. everything seemed to be fine with it tho. came home tonight and he had taken a good size poo while we were at work and this is what his vent looks like now. i didnt want to mess with it too much, but if you handled it in the same way as if you were popping a baby, everything was seeming to want to roll out, like prolapse or herniation. it wasnt extreme, but i also didnt apply much pressure. if left alone it just seems slightly inflamed and irritated. do you think it was from the mondo poo he took or should we be concerned?

A sugar paste bandage could help if you think somethings wrong with his hemipenes. Like theyre swollen or something. In the 1st pic it looks like theyre popping out there a little bit.

Re: Do you think his vent is ok?

it looks a bit better tonight but it seems to kinda want to open when you pull on it gently. our other breeder males vent is nothing like it. and hes locked a total of 12 times this year that we know of. what is a sugar patch? im wondering if he had issues in the past and they just didnt tell us about it.

A sugar paste bandage is when you mix sugar and water into a paste, place it on the vent area and bandage it up. I have never had to do that before, so hopefully someone else with experience can help you out.

I think you should give Brian at BHB a call and let them know what's going on.

ok. had adam from snake eyes exotics look at it and he said to keep an eye on it but dosent look to be anything overly concerning. that made me feel a whole lot better!
