that is 100% fine, many people do it. just make sure to change the date at least every other day, and disinfect it with something like Chlorhexidine or F10 often

    Re: humidity question

Actually I was wondering about this too. I had my water dish over my UTH, but the water got really warm. Is that an issue at all?

It will not get hotter than the hot side temp, 90º is not really warm so if it feels warm to you (body temp 96.8º) you might want to check your hot side temps.

    Re: humidity question

It was from my 'test run' so I didn't have a thermostat at that time. So that's probably why it seemed warm to me >.< sorry.

    Re: humidity question

Although - now that I'm not half asleep - if your hand is going from a 60ish degree room temp into 92 degree water, it is still gonna feel warm lol. But yeah, I get that it wouldn't be a problem. I just remembered reading a thread on here where a lot of people said that they noticed that when giving cool water their snakes would come right over and drink, where as with warm they would pretty much ignore it. So I wasn't sure if that would be the same with water warmed up by the UTH.

Anyways, I'm fairly sure my humidity is fine w/out it

Just wanted to clarify my bleary post from last night.
