    Sooo he's eating now...

Can I play with him!? I've been itching to get him out for two months, but was waiting for a successful feed. Do you think I ought to wait for one more, or start handling tomorrow?

And why were you waiting for a feeding to start handling him?

Wow 2 months? I would have given him a couple days.

Hey blue I think it's great that you want to wait till he feed's to handle him. But, I think the time has come for you to enjoy him more ! I would assume that you bought him from a good breeder?
I just picked up 1.1 pastel het clown's from fred kick (good guy) 1.5 wk's ago. I went against the grain and held my new bp's a few times after receiving them. I did same day handling, two day's later and a bit on the weekend. Yes, I knew that I was taking a chance on stressing them for feeding. There around 150g range now.
Yesterday, was my first attempt at feeding them both. And, woo hoo success they took the f/t adult mice from me no problem's and finished there meal.
So, get to it girl and play with your snake, lol.

I typically wait for 2-3 feeds as well, but I doubt ten minutes is going to be the end of him. Just don't go straight to handling every day, and give him a good 2-3 days of no handling before his next scheduled feeding.

x2 If I have guys off feed I only handle them for the basics (cleaning cages, looking them over to make sure there's nothing weird health wise going on) until they are eating regularly then I take them out more often.

Hahaha, that's just a policy I have- no handling until they've eaten a meal in their new home. I just want to make sure they're acclimated and eating well is a sign of that. He was bred before I got him, though, so the breeder said he was probably not eating because of the season. Thanks!

I do understand, and that's quite a rule, but I would keep myself like to 2 or 3 weeks... LOL
