    Question Black Pastel?

Hey everyone, I just posted the "Fire?" thread. This guy came in the same package. He was in the blue when I got him...so he was dark but faded and it was hard to see colors. his pattern looked enough like black pastel I didn't think much of it until after he shed. I have another black pastel male and am shocked at how very different they look. I know this snake is not a normal...but is he in fact a black pastel? Just on an extremely different end of the spectrum? I know sometimes black pastels and be mistaken for cinnys and vice versa....but his colors are not really "cinny" either. I do have 2 cinnys, and he really doesn't look anything like them either. I did not take comparison pics (with my cinnys) but i can if it would help.

    Thanks for the insight!

Snake in question on the left, Black pastel (for sure) on the right

    another pic with flash on

belly shot of my (for sure) black pastel

belly shot of the snake in question (def doesn't look the same does it!?) (sorry its blurry he was not being very cooperative for his photo shoot!)

    What was he sold as?
It doesn't look like a black pastel or a cinny to me. He also doesn't have the characteristic squiggles in the alien heads that Black Pastels have..
Looks like a really cool dinker normal in my opinion

He was sold to me as a black pastel (I already have a male BP but like I said in the Fire thread, it was sold to me as a package deal) He was in really deep shed when I got him so I wasn't able to really tell what he looked like...but after he shed I was like "what....are....you!?" He definately doesn't look normal but I thought maybe someone could identify if maybe he is just a low quality black pastel? Glad I'm not the only one who thinks he's an odd cookie

Don't get me wrong, he doesn't look like a black pastel to me either! lol I guess I should have titled the thread "Morph or normal?" LOL He looks very much different than all the normals I have seen....different coloring different pattern, etc....but....he doesn't look like any known morphs I've seen either. Just not sure if I should fish or cut bait with him....

Esp now that the fire isn't a fire, I REALLY don't need another normal male hanging around. lol (and yes, I double checked...he's a male. i don't know why i double checked...maybe hoping those huge hemipenes and the sperm plug was just my imagination? )

He's a cool looking Normal, but he'd have to be a lot cooler than that for me to mess around with dinking him.

    Re: Black Pastel?

Let me take a look, its looking pretty questionable, they look somewhat normal to me, but its possible they are just really poor examples. The one on the left does not look black pastel to me.

How about a good, CLEAR photo of his head?

He is not a black pastel.

Definetly not a bp. The one on the right is definetly though. Im like 99% sure that cinnies/bps usually have clean bellies. I know my guy does...

    Re: Black Pastel?

The one on the left I'd say the first 1/3 of his body looks kinda cinnamon/blackpastelish (dark blushed areas on the back and some floating alien heads)...but after that its all normal looking the rest of the way.
