The temp gun won't help in determining if they're thawed; the skin of the mouse may reach room temp while the core is still frozen. Always check by poking it with your finger--if it's squishy all the way through it's thawed. Then when you heat it up you want to aim for a surface temperature of 100*.

Definitely I forgot to say in my post I wait for them to cool to 100f before I offer. Seems he has a better feeding response.
