    Not eating....

Anyone have a BP go off food (not totally off, but down to once every 3-4 weeks as a juvie when he never refused a meal before) just from changing his bedding?? My boy's bein a real pain gettin to eat (mice, rats, doesn't matter) and tracking it all back it all started when I changed his bedding from coco-cubes to cypress mulch, and only half as much mulch. Sound like the likely cause??

..if it matters, he's around 350-400 grams (ordering new scale soon).

at his weight he should be alright even if he stops eating. Why the switch ? Would you go back to the original bedding? I would feed him the prey he was eating from the start and not switch him. Also make sure everything is spot on like heat, humidity, hot spot etc.

Yeah, all the numbers are the same and I had already switched to him to rats with absolutely no problems. I'd rather not switch back to the coco-cubes as I'm going to be getting a rack really soon, which will use newspaper.

my guy has been doing this ever since it started to get cold. he's 9 months and he didn't eat for like 2 weeks. ate once, then didn't eat again for two weeks. ate 2 or 3 times and now he hasn't eaten for 3 weeks. trying again tonight. before this the rats barely made it into the cage before he struck.

Sounds exactly the same.....guess it's just the seasonal thing (thou it's weird when it's 70-80 here). Guess that solves that....thx a lot.

Anybody out there know when this should start to wear off (I know this is fairly common with adults.....just thought my boy was a little young for that)???

EEEK! Mines only been on/off since mid-Dec.

Wish I could know when to expect this to wear off in FL, and how does it usually end.....just start eating every week or more slowly???
