    how long do locks last?

I'm starting to introduce my male albino to a big normal 400-500g (or bigger?) female. For the first 10 minutes they were just starting to feel each other out, but seemed to be displaying positive and breeding-related behaviors. I left them alone, and two hours later they sitting on the hot side of the cage semi-cuddling, but definitely not in a lock.

The question is, any chance they locked? How long do I have to spy on them if they go for it, to try to document locks?

This will be my first season breeding any species of snake, so I'm pretty excited.

Thanks! I know that it's just the beginning of pairing these two up, but I almost expect to see an ovulation or eggs every time I go near them.
