    Mites again. noooooooooooo

So Im up at 5am this morning only to discover one mite making it's way to my . So I prepare her a bath with Reptile Relief and go to get her, she bites me, totally my fault, I just fed my dog and had dog food on my hands.....forgot to wash. the bit did not hurt, drew just three drops of blood. I am so glad it happened now I'm not scared to get bit. So I let her soak, while I clean out her cage and decorations and treat her enclosure with PAM. So I have to drag out my extra tank and wash it out and get it papertoweled and hooked up to the thermometer. Just temporary until her other enclosure airs out from fumes. Hopefully she will be back in her enclosure by one or two this aftertoon. All of this for one stinking little mite, which is now dead.....
So I am going to take a nap, and then treat my other two for mites just in case. I sure hope I don't see anymore.

Dang, that sucks. Sorry. But welcome to the bite club..... I have been reading so many threads about mites that I ordered a can of Pam, just in case. I can't stand fleas, so I could only imagine what mites would be like. Good thing you caught it before it got bad though. Didn't know snakes would like the smell of dog food though?

yea, should I feel special about being in the bite club? lol. I am glad I cought those mites in time. I have an idea of where they came from. Pet Smart bedding. I really thought that frontline would have gotten rid of them last week though. I guess not.

The substrate is usually the case, or a new snake. If not using paper, aspen is best.
