    red eye tree frog's help.

OKay. I have a few questions.
I do not think i am using google right.

    1. when i asked a herp shop about tree frogs, i asked about the water. They told me that red eyes are a bit "dumb" and will drown in water. So supply water to them like you would a Tarantula. With a rock in the middle of the bowl. Is this true? They do not seem dumb or clumsy to me.

    2. Will they eat other frogs of their own species?

    3. can red eye tree frogs live with tiger stripe tree frogs? They look almost a like but not sure if they are a sub species or "morphs".

    Thank you!

    1. Yes, you should provide an easy way out of the water dish. I used to make sure there were some pothos branches/leaves hanging into the water when I kept RETFs. They aren't dumb or clumsy, but the tall plastic sides of a water dish could confuse them, or if they are in shed they might not be sticky enough to climb it. They are not swimmers, so you don't want them to get stuck in the middle of a water bowl.

    2. They will eat frogs that are smaller than them. If it moves, it could be food.

    3. Generally speaking you should not mix various species of frogs. I am not sure of the exact husbandry requirements of the tiger striped monkey tree frog, but they are a different species from the red eyed tree frog.

If you want to have different looking frogs together I know that there are some Red Eyed Tree Frog morphs (albino, xanthic, black) they would cost more but I think seeing a yellow, green, and black frog all together would be cool

Oh alright. Thank you so very much.
The herp shop i called made them seem dumb ahah.

So, i should start with how many i want of the same size so they can grow together.
I did not know if the tiger was a different species or a mutation. When people post about them, they leave out the monkey. I just read, "tiger striped tree frog" >.>

But thank you very much for answering my questions!
