Herpstat 2 - Can you use electrical tape to tape the temp probe to the heat tape?

I just purchased the Herpstat 2 and was planning on attaching the temp prob to the heat tape with alunimum tape. It says in the instruction manual:

"Do not cover the probe tip with aluminum tape"

Is it safe to use electrical tape for this?

most electrical tape has a temperature listed on it that it is safe to use it with. most likely it will be fine but will make a mess (the glue will melt) I use hot glue to secure my probes, just apply the hot glue to the probes cord and not the probe itself.

I have used both packing tape and duct tape, so I assume electrical tape is fine, too, lol.

The only thing the instructions say is to stay away from the aluminum tape as it will flaw the readings. Electrical tape shouldn't be a problem, I use some quality packing tape because it sticks better.

Good ole' fashioned duct tape works just fine.
