    My Little Girl

This is Yuki. I got her about a month ago on 1-21-2012 at a local reptile expo. She is my first snake and I'm still working out a few kinks with her set up. Had a shedding issue because of a mistake created by misinformation on my end (because of low tank humidity I bathed her right before her shed and it stuck bad, thanks to all who helped me with that!). She still has some stuck shed on her chin (which I'm leaving because it doesn't seem to hinder her and she doesn't care for me messing with her head) and 1 retained eye cap. I found a fix for the humidity problem, though, so it should come off with her next shed. She is about 20 inches long and weighs 125 grams. Don't know her age because I completely forget the whole plethora of questions I had to ask once I got to the expo. I had plenty lined up but got blasted by the awesomeness of being allowed to get a snake and forgot them all instantly. Any help on possible age for her would be greatly appreciated, and my cousin told me she was bit thin, is she? Glad to be in the world of ball pythons finally!

    Thank you. :)
And everywhere I look I hear to not try and remove it because I could do more harm than good, that it'll come off with the next shed. I'd prefer to wait it out and not risk it if there is no harm in leaving it for the few more weeks or so until she sheds again.

The gentalist way would probably be to take the damp towel, put it in a pillow case, place her in there and secure it shut, that way she will do all the work. Just check every 15 mins or so, and if you can put it in the enclosure to keep it warm

    Very nice pinstripe!

Here's a very easy and SAFE way to help a stuck eye cap. Put a dab, like a single drop, of clear mineral oil on the eye and put her back in her cage. By this evening, the eye cap will be gone. That single drop of mineral oil won't hurt her a bit and she'll then easily be able to rub the cap off herself. Waiting til her next shed could result in a double layer of eye caps stuck in which case you have to find a way to get them off. Helping her out now will prevent you having to do it with more difficulty later. The mineral oil is the safest, least invasive, and most effective way I've ever heard to remove an eye cap and it's worked for me several times with great success!
