    Shedding at the same time

Three of my four snakes are in shed and they are all in the same phase of the shedding process. My male normal of course hasn't shed in a very long time because the dumb butt refuses to eat.

That's really convenient. I've only had 2 shed at the same time. Are all of your around the same size?

Yes, they are all pretty much the same size.

I have had at the most 6 shed all at the same time. Adults mostly but 2 were sub 400gms. Odd I wonder if there is some pheromone thing going on? Pet theory, many snakes 'call' mates to mate with pheromones released during shed cycles (rainbow boas for example) I wonder if Royals are similar... pre ovulation sheds and all that. It could be related to them syncing up sheds maybe. Just a thought...

That's a very interesting theory. It's quite possible.

Ya know, I have heard of this theory and I really do believe that it holds true to an extent. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge! I am always very impressed with your posts!

Idk how it works, but I am convinced that something is released when they shed because all of mine shed together. Within the last 2 weeks I've had 4 sheds and 2 going into shed just now.
