    Humidity

I did a search and couldn't find any threads fully relevant. So too much humidity can cause scale rot, but how much? Are there other problems that can be caused by too high of a humidity?

Is a consistent 60-65% humidity harmful to a bp?

My cages stay at a constant 60%, there is no problem with that. As long as the substrate isn't wet and there isn't isn't condensation forming on the inside of the tank you won't have any problems at all.

In fact the average humidity in their natural habitat is almost constantly 80% (but that much humidity will cause mold in a reptile enclosure)

    Re: Humidity

Right now I have the humidity for two of my snakes pretty high, but that is because they are in shed. I have it at about 70% to 75%. When they are not in shed it is 60%.

what type of enclosure do you have? we got a few rack systems from reptile basics and had issues with way too high humidity so we drilled holes a few at a time until we got it down into the high 70's low 80's. we were concerned about causing RI's in our new babies. we then were advised to try a fan in the room and that helped dramaticly! got it down to low to mid 60's. my hubby actually installed a ceiling fan for them but the regular stand fan did fine as well.
