    Help!!!!

Hello all this is my first post on the forum. I'll make it quick. Today my ball python exhibited behavior that I have never seen before. Tonight when I was walking in the room when she started striking the glass several times. She stayed in the strike position whole time in was in the room and when I was close to the glass is would strike several times. I did feed her Monday night and she is getting ready to shed but she has never done this. Like never and I have had her 1.5 years. Any ideas what is going on ?

    Re: Help!!!!

I don't think there's any way to KNOW "what's going on". They're pretty primitive creatures.

She might be feeling hungry, depending on the size and frequency of the meals you feed her. And if hungry enough, any heat signature that comes within her range may trigger an attempt to get at it.

Or, for whatever reason, the snake felt vulnerable. It's not an uncommon thing, especially if they are going into shed. Rather than hovering by the glass, try covering it with a blanket and leave her completely alone for a few days until she finishes her shed process, and she'll most likely be right back to her old self.

    And welcome to BP.net!

    I'm sure she's fine!

She might just be pissed off. They are a living creature. They dont have to be happy every day.

Snakes are not smart creatures. Chances are she is hungry and just striking at movement. I would not worry about it

Ya i wouldn't worry to much about it. She might have woke up on the wrong side of the 'bed' hahaha or maybe you smelled really good that day. What I would do is open that cage and wrestle her outa there. i have a rule in my house, if I'm not holding food nobody strikes at me and gets away with it. LOL thats why i could never have children.. any who i like them to know who's boss. wether i get tagged or not lol
