I have a male Mojave weighing in at around 650 grams. Hes still been on feed and been my little porn star this year. Hes been with 2 of my females, Ill put him with my pin tues, wed and thurs and my normal fri sat sun and he gets monday off for food. Well I picked up a big normal female a while back and shes now out of quarantine. Should I pair my mojave with her anf if so how many days. 3 per female or....

Ive never bred before but from what i have read i think it would be better if you gave him more than one day off.
I would say 4 days in, 3 days out. Then every week change which female you pair him with. Just my 2 cents from what ive gathered. Someone with some more experience will certainly provide a better answer though.

Re: is 3 too many
As long as hes still a healthy weight and still eating 3 females is no problem. Personally I give my males a couple days rest in between introductions different females. Example, Mon-Wed/female, thurs-fri/rest, sat-mon-diff female,Tues-wed/rest, thursday-sat/diff female, with a feeding somewhere on one of his rest days, then I'll give him a couple weeks off. I never keep a male breeding for 6 days straight. To each his own I say, but I just like my males to recooperate inbetween females.

Re: is 3 too many
The actual number of females a male is bred to is irrelevant. What matters is that he is kept on the same schedule whether breeding to 1 or 10 girls. If he's eating he'll be fine. If one of my small males skips 2 consecutive meals while breeding, he's sidelined till he eats.

I agree with Mike. He needs more rest, they have been known to breed themselves to death. Put the male in with a female for 3 days and then give him 3-4 days off (in which time you try to feed everyone), then put him in with a different female and repeat schedule. Do that with how ever many females you feel he can handle. If you witness a lock then take him out and start his break after they unlock (ie, you put him in and they lock right away and then unlock the first day, take him out for his 3-4 day rest). Good luck with your breeding and may the odds Gods smile upon you
