Wound on lip
My Mojave female has a wound on her bottom lip right at the mouth opening. I usually feed f/t but since she went on a 3month fasting I tried a live & she took it this last Wednesday & assuming that's when it happened. I didn't notice anything till today, I left her alone pretty much since her feeding.
I was wondering if I should just clean it or apply neosporin as well. Just didn't know since it's so close to her mouth.
Thanks as always for your comments!

Re: Wound on lip
Is it a bruise, or an open wound? Neosporin is a no no on snakes.

Maybe It's from her rubbing her face against the enclosure? A few of my snakes do that.
Neosporin (with no pain killer) is ok in light moderation and should not be applied over and over again.
However, Betadine is safer to use.

It's all scabbed up, not a bruise. I opened her mouth it's not inside it at all just on the outside. I will try & get a picture.

It's the same thing my snake had, just apply betadine and you can use flamazine to get the wound to heal nicely. You can use the flamazine both in and outside the mouth.

Flamazine worked wonders for me when I had a few rescues sleep over , I'm assuming the betadine works just as well but I have no experience using it yet.
