How often to feed breeding females?

I have been breeding since noveber and have been getting alot of locks but no ovulation yet. I am feeding about once a week. Do I need to feed more often or what is the deal? Why no signs of an ovy yet?

Yep like Greg said there is a critical time for females to get food. They will become ravenous and you will know it, coming out of the tub for food, banging the tub as you walk by..The way I see it is if they are going to eat I'm going to feed them.. So my females get fed almost every 5 days and a little bigger meal than normal. This also over the past few years seems to have helped them rebound from egg laying faster and they haven't lost as much weight even after laying 8-12 egg clutches..

So should I just keep pairing and feeding a little more often?

Breeding females that will eat feed em. If they refuse then they refuse but i would offer. Males should get small meals inbetween pairings to keep their stamina up. A male will breed himself to death if uou let him

I feed them every week, a nice-sized meal (medium or large rat).

Many of my girls are glowing, and building, but they're all still locking.
