My three favorite parts of the article were:
1.) They made this massive jump from large constrictors to venomous (but hey at least they got venomous right instead of calling them poisonous), it's not a very logical jump since a bite from my boa MAY require a band aid but a bite from a viper is going to need a trip to the hospital. They are two different cans of worms and shouldn't be lumped together, though neither is a public safety risk.
2.) I LOVE how they say we ship reptiles in boxes labeled "auto parts" and they almost always arrive dead. That actually made me laugh. Why would anyone bother shipping a reptile if there was a 99% chance it would arrive dead?
3.) I think the best part about the article was the insulation that captivity = instant suffering and neglect. I'll admit that my tubs may be dirty for a day sometimes because I have too much going on, but I would be happy to show anyone my collection at any time. I take pride in their care and do my best by them.
Hopefully anyone with half a brain who reads that will be able to clearly see how biased and untrue the article is.![]()
