We started this week and our Childrens minister asked if I would bring one of my snakes to childrens church as a preview of what they are going to talk about next week, which is the fall of man when the snake convinced eve and adam to eat of the tree of good and evil. So I took my red tail and the kids went crazy! They all wanted to hold him and touch him, it was a really great experience just to let them see a snake close up thats not behind a glass at the zoo. One little girl thats about 6 years old yelled out; "is that a diamond back rattlesnake?!" it was really cute. I thought it was pretty funny that all the men in there were backing up against the walls too lol.
I love any chance to teach people about my snakes. My only concern with this scenario would be to make sure the kids understood that today's snakes are not strictly the same as the "evil serpent" in the Biblical references.
