I'd put her on paper towels or aspen substrate as well as ditch that sticky thermometer thing and get a digital one for ambient temps and one with a probe for the hot spot if you don't have a temp gun (which is what I use: I have an ambient temp/humidity thermometer and check hot and cold spots with a temp gun).

I wouldn't like seeing my balls up that high if they were in tanks (I use tubs) so I would make it so she couldn't get all the way up there.
