BP has eaten once and hasn't pooped in the past 3 1/2 months

My BP went about 2 1/2 months without eating then ate once, it's been a month and he still wont eat. He also hasn't pooped the entire time. About 2 weeks after he ate a small bit of urate came out but no poop, i've felt him and there is no obvious hard spot. But he is still gaining weight, so should i be concerned?

My husbandry is good during the day, but the temps do tend to drop a little low at night, however he has a hide that is almost always above 80º.

What type of enclosure/heat source/method of measuring temperatures are you using.

If he hasn't eaten then it makes sense that he hasn't pooped. The mouse that he ate was probably entirely used up with nothing left over.

It's a glass tank with a UTH thats honestly a little too small but i also use a Heat lamp to get the temps up. And i have a digital thermometer/hydrometer mounted on the back wall in the middle, a digital thermometer on the cold side, and a digital with a probe going into the hot hide.

Is the UTH on a thermostat? If not I'm sure it is getting far to hot and that could be the reason why he isn't eating.

Also what type of bulb is in the lamp?

it's not, unfortunately i haven't been able to find one. but i have used 2 different probe thermometers to measure the temp over the UTH and both came out as around 80º-85º. i understand that this is not the best way to do things but it is the best i can do at the moment.

You can get this thermostat for $30. it will work but there are better.

I use these, they cost more but work better.

What type of substrate are you using, and how thick is the layer?

i tried to get the hydrofarm one, but i live in canada and it ships from Florida if i remember correctly, and when i tried to order it the shipping came out at over $100 so i cant do that.

And i have coconut fiber about 1/4 inch deep.

They aren't going to poop if they don't have any excess nutrients to expel.

As for getting the snake to eat, you need to work on getting your husbandry right, even at night. My opinion on non-breeding bps not eating in the winter is largely due to people letting the temps drop. I have 20 some snakes, 8 of which are breeding and they are all still eating. 80 is usually what my low sides read, if they aren't eating the first thing to do is make sure the husbandry is spot on, including the temps. The next biggest thing is to make sure they feel secure. You don't want a lot of open space, and you want the hide to have one small opening and nice and snug.
