My large Exo Terra hides were getting too small, so I used Sculpey oven bake clay to make them bigger. It says that the clay is non-toxic. Has anyone used this and do you think it will be safe for the snake?
Once baked it is very hard and durable so I don't see why not.
I have not heard of that type of clay, but there is a thread on here about using a homemade dough over a mold, and sealing it. People have had success with the dough recipe, so I think they clay would work fine as long as you seal it.
I'm fairly sure its safe--I know it's used pretty popularly in DIY aquarium accessories, in which case it spends a lot of time in water. People use it because it doesn't dissolve, or leech chemicals--I can't imagine life with a BP would be any harder on it than life in a fish tank!

Thanks for the input. Is that Ontario Canada or Ontario California?
I used to live in Ontario Canada before moving to San Diego.
