Help! Is this the start of scale rot?

Hey everyone, I was hoping I would never have to post about this, but my orange ghost mysteriously got a discolored spot on her belly and I only noticed today. Is this scale rot? Some information about her:

-She hasnt been eating consistently since Ive gotten her
-Shes kept in a 12 quart tub, she is 290 grams
-Thermostat on the flexwatt, 90-91 on hot side, 79-80 on cool side, always
    -50% humidity or more
-Newspaper bedding, she has one big hide and a water bowl (cant fit two hides for her)
-Shes defecated once, in her hide, I didnt notice until morning so she may have been slithering around in it, but when I cleaned up her tub I didnt see anything on her. Probably should have wiped her down though

    Pictures:

How serious is it guys? Before someone says to apply Neosporin, keep in mind Im in Canada. Does Polysporin work the same way as Neosporin? What do I need to look out for in the ingredients? And should I switch her to paper towels for now? Would this case warrant a vet possibly or will she go back to normal after her next shed if I keep it clean & dry?

    Thanks everyone!

You don't want to use Neosporin or the Canadian equivalent lol. See if you can find some betadine

I'm sorry I can't help you on wether or not it is scale rot, I've never personally had a snake with scale rot.

My het. Albinos both had a slight touch of scale rot, actually a little more than that. I kept them clean and dry, didn't put any ointment on, and by next shed it was all cleared up. It was caused by sitting in urine while I battled the flu...I felt really, really bad (and is why I use absorbent aspen, now) but was very thankful that it cleared up.

I am no expert, though, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

If its scale rot you the worst thing you could do is put neosporin on it. Keep the spot clean and dry and keep disinfecting the tub. As the op said soak the snake in a diluted betadine solution. Good luck, I hope its not scale rot. Also there is another post on here regarding a scale rot situation with some great tips. Never dealt with scale rot but this is what I have heard to do.

They don't have Neosporin in Canada? That's a little weird....

I can't really tell what it is from the pics, but it can never hurt to take her to the vet.

What is betadine? Is it similar to iodine? Does anyone know what the ratio of betadine to water is? And how frequently/for how long do I need to soak her ?

Heres a zoomed version of the discolored spot..

Betadine it a name brand of a certain type of iodine. I don't remember the water ratio but I think that it is 10:1.

Apply it directly instead of a 10:1 diluted soak? If I were to apply a tiny bit directly, would I use a q-tip? Or just sterilize my hands well first?

Thanks, Ill check out shoppers and see if theyve got some Betadine. Yeah it seems to be quite minor at the moment, I am hoping that it doesnt get any worse and that it clears up after her next shed.
