    Free "rack" system..

Oh dear oh dear. I really do love Nathan!

My boyfriend currently works at Subway, though he's applying day and night at other places to get a better job. But for now, it really worked out quite nicely! His store was dumping out one of their shelving units in the back that was used for holding the sauces and food. It's a toolless build and the shelves can slide up and down the sides freely--making it so it could be short enough to perfectly hold tubs for the snakes, or even something like a 20 gallon tall. It's made of some strong metal too, so even heavy stuff doesn't make it bend or sag.

It's old and a bit dirty, but we are planning on painting and sealing it so it looks nicer anyway. I'm sort of excited. The whole thing is 6 ft tall and about as wide as a 20 gallon long and there are 6 levels to it that are removable. It also has holes in the back, the perfect size to run wires through--for heating even! So it looks like we now have the perfect place to hold all the animals, mealworms, supplies, and future purchases!

I was shocked Nathan got it home, but that's all because it can be completely torn down and put back together(by hand!). He was able to fit it into his very small car. Kind of awesome and lucky.

Yeah it was quite a shock. He mentioned they were throwing a big shelf thing out and mentioned how perfect it would be for a rack, but I sighed and said "if only your family's truck wasn't broken down right now!" Nathan's current car couldn't fit a 6 ft beastly thing.

Then he brings it home in pieces. I swear that boy was determined! And I love it!

Right now it's a pile of metal pieces in my garage lol!

It's basically one of these: http://aasurplusinc.com/1%20New%20Si...shelving-3.JPG but with a back on it(that's honestly a bit messed up and we might end up replacing), and each shelf actually slides into place instead of having specific places where it can go. You then insert the stopper and lock it into place. So I could have three shelves that are short for tubs, and three more of individual heights. Very neat.

We are going to clean and paint it first while it is in pieces. Then put it back together all nice and new!
