so these are my two brand new, and first ball pythons.

I just wanted to know, since I know they are both normal, is the one on the left more desirable for mating? does it matter? He seems much more 'tan' than brown, and much less 'alien heads' than the female.
Just curious.

Both look good, and I wouldn't say either are "more desirable" Personally I like the lighter one but I know many people who would go the other way.

Depends on what you like. I like funky patterns and I also like simple patterns! They are cute! And I love the names.

I do like the one on the left better, but it's all personal taste.

Personally I would only breed a normal male to a morph female if I really thought there was something special with him (I'd rather go morph to morph or a morph male to a big normal female), but what pairing are you looking to do in the future?
