It's interesting to me that the men's replies so far are along the vein of "I don't need a special day to show my love to my lady". Is that an "excuse" to get out of Valentine's Day, or does it illustrate the difference between how men and women view Valentine's Day?
I think for women, it's more sentimental for us. We also don't NEED a special day to show our men that we love them, but we look forward to Valentine's Day as one of the days of the year to take even more time to recognize and appreciate the loved ones in our lives.
A day outside of the normal hustle and bustle of our lives.
If we've been with someone for any length of time, we do sort of settle into our day to day lives and routines and quick kiss goodbye when one heads off to work, the automatic "I love you". Valentine's is a time for us to share on a deeper level, just what it is that we love about you big lug heads! And we need/like to hear from you, just what it is about us that made you choose us to be your gal. What things you appreciate about us above all others.
Yeah, Valentine's is probably a chick holiday - but since you love us - you should indulge us.Guys - don't cheap out on Valentine's Day with that lame excuse "I don't need a holiday to let you know I love you" (or you may find yourself without any love that day and a pillow and blanket on the sofa! LOL). Show your girl what makes her your number one!

Don't just grab the first Valentine card you find, take time to find one that really tells your lady how you really feel about her. She'll know the difference between a well chosen card and one you grabbed as an after thought. On behalf of all the ladie's in your lives - do it for her, she'll be doing it for you.
