5 gallons of Blackberry wine- shooting for a sweeter, desert type wine... more of a port.

That's cool I have been thinking about trying a white since I found out that the seedless grapes I planted three years ago are seeded
What was your resource in learning about it?

I got the recipe for the blackberry wine from a good friend who was somewhat of a Arkansas "hillbilly". He had a heart attack and died back in '03... had told myself I would start making his "sippin' wine" at some point. I came across an old glass 5 gallon car boy a couple of weeks ago and decided it was time.
I have found alot of info by just google-ing "homemade blackberry wine", and there is a home brew wine/beer shop nearby that answered questions and supplied me the last few items I needed to get rolling.
So far so good, seems patience is going to be the hardest part.

6 months into the first batch and time to pull out of "bulk" aging and bottle off.
Has turned out very tasty, semi-sweet to sweet. Now if I can leave it alone for a few months...

Sweet! My boyfriend makes hard apple cider. He has made some with peach, raspberry, and strawberry so far.

hey man congrats on the batch of wine.... I have toyed with the idea of getting one of those kits.... I just worried that I wouldnt be able to find a recipe that we would like... plus I would have to buy juice somewhere, no fruit grows around here
