You just got him today, right? Why not give him time to settle instead of worrying straight away that there might be something wrong with him?
My bp doesn't mind being handled at all and isn't head shy, but he hid his head from me the first couple of days I had him.

Good looking guy. Just let him settle in and handle a little bit at a time after that until he does not see you as a threat.

Thing is, my other snakes didn't seem to react this way. But then again maybe its because the snake spent most of his time in a Rubbermaid, never touched?

He'll be fine. Just let him settle in for a week or until he eats for you and then start handling him for a few minutes at a time and up it from there. My ex never handled my bp before he gave him to me, either, and now Pablo doesn't seem to mind at all. It just takes patience and time. He might always be a shyer snake than your others or, after he realizes you aren't a threat, he might relax and stop being as head shy and flighty.

Re: NEW BUMBLE BEE ... Scareed Bumble Bee or...
I don't think its the spider gene, he just looks scared. He needs a week left untouched to adjust. Then slowly start handling. Each snake is different, some more comfortable than others, some more shy. As long as husbandry is good, and he is left to adjust, with handling he will be fine.

I bought a 6 year Bee breeder from a large facility who was never a "pet".
He's a total spazz.
I've changed his name to "Ozzy" because that little loon is definitely riding the crazy train.

Yeah, this isn't from the spider gene, just a scared ball python. Nothing to worry about. Trust me if he starts to wobble you will know it.. it's very distinctive.

I agree with that.
My Spider, Leon is just about the most socially gregarious snake I have, except for my male Pastel.
Whenever I go by his home, he pokes his head out and the starts the "Pick me up!" routine and when I do take him out, he throws a fit when he has to go back in.
He's a real social butterfly.
In fact, I got him because of all the glowing reports of the "wonderful Spider personality".
He doesn't "wobble" but he does seem to enjoy looking at me upside down.

I love my spider, he is my favorite snake, he really is just like a little puppy, he sits in his hide with his head sticking out, and if I walk by he comes right up to the glass. He will sit on my lap for hours... I guess he is my lap snake lol.
Mine also likes to view the world upside down, I honestly don't even think he realizes that he is lol.
