Lol yep! The spurs are used more for stimulating the female I believe. The males rub their spurs along the females back and then under her stimulating her to lift her tail and be more receptive. I don't believe they help much with the actual lock. If the female is receptive the male can penetrate her. Considering that locks are always slightly crooked or sideways, most of the time their spurs are no where near touching each others.
