    Rate this Pastel (1-10)

I was just wanting some opinions of my male pastel I have and would like for anyone to rate him 1-10. Be honest!

Well it all depends on a few factors, at least to me.
1 how old is the snake
2 what is the weight of the snake
3 when did it last shed/ is it going into a shed
To me he looks young and not very large so I would put him at a 5-6 range if he has recently shed. But if he is going into a shed it's hard to say how bright he truly is. So he could be a 7-8.
He has nice blushing on his back, and good yellow along the sides, flames are decent. But he looks like he is starting to brown out at a very small size and his pattern isn't busy enough for me.
Regardless he is a beautiful heathy looking snake.

x2 I would say that this is a good pastel, at least a 6.

We can all sit here and rate this snake but in the end all that matters is what you really think of the animal. I like the way the pastel looks, not the best example, but then who am I????

Well to me he looks to be about 400ish grams? I would say 6/10. Maybe a 7 if you get a pic of him right after he sheds. But as long as you like him who cares.

I love him regardless! I'm just debating on breeding him or just keeping him as a non-breeder. He is about 135 grams. He shed a little over 3 weeks ago so he SHOULD be somewhat close to shedding again. He has gotten a little dull lately.

    I'm gonna call him a solid 6.5.

Yes he has a brown out line awful young, BUT he also has a fantastic amount of blushing, and that is only going to get better as he ages. Your pictures have a slight yellowish cast to them, so he might not be as yellow as he appears, but that's okay. Certain pastels actually start out rough and get really nice, and I suspect he's one of those.

My own male Koroku wasn't much to look at when I got him. Over 1000 grams and really brown with minimal blushing, but somehow I ended up with him anyway. I never intended to breed him, as he wasn't that great. Then something strange happened. At around 1500 grams he started lightening up and getting a lot of blushing. Now, at 1800 grams he's far from being yellow, and he's still not the most spectacular of pastels, but he's nice enough he's breeding for me this year.

I will say a 5. Way too much brown at that size for my tastes. But, decent blushing and a great pattern.

I would give him a 4. Definitely more brown than I like to see and the head is pretty dark. Nice snake...Just not what I personally look for in a pastel.

As a few have said, for his size he's browned quite a bit so on that note id say a 5. However, you say you cannot decide to use him in breeding or a pet, on the basis of straight pastel, yh he'd probably throw out some standard pastels.
The amount of contrast, vividness of color and amount of blushing would make me look for a fire female with nice blushing and reduced pattern. A firefly from that pairing might actually be above average imo.
