baby cinny with swollen head

My '11 cinny last ate on the 18th of January. (prekilled)
On the 20th, she started to go into shed very visibly with her eyes becoming completely cloudy. Her head seemed a bit swollen.
I 'assumed' it was from her going into shed, and decided to just watch. Next day she seemed ok, other than in shed, so I didn't think much of it.
Today - head seemed VERY swollen to me (see attached pic) https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlinkand while she still isn't finished with her shed, I am growing more concerned that this is NOT just a shed issue. I looked in her mouth and her mouth looks normal, no swelling, discoloration. The swelling is very symmetrical, and is 'squishy' - not hard.

So, I'm stumped. I have no way to get her to the vet until tomorrow, and would LOVE some input!!

Hi,

I have seen swelling like that as part of an RI - basically the throat "pouches" with mucus.

The other cause of swellings would be irritation or injury inside the mouth - but that wouldn't go away in an hour from what I have seen.

Ah! That makes sense! Thank you! Like I said, I'll be heading to the vet, now at least with a little idea of what might be going on. She's not showing any other symptoms, but this one has me wiggy. Poor girl. She was shipped on the 11th of Jan - 50* temps, with a proper heat pack, but I wonder if that got something brewing....

I also agree that the only time I have seen that is when a snake has RI. It's like a mucus bubble, for lack of better words.
