humidor crystals?

im looking at these things they make for cigars that will keep your humidor at 70% humidity with just water do you think they would work in a snake cage (assuming you find a way that the snake wont eat them or something)

They might work, but I'd have to do some serious research before I tried them.

they wer like 3 bucks for a jar im gonna throw them in an empty tank after i figure out how to snake proof them with a hygrometer and see how they work

What are they made of? I'd be worried about chemicals used in them or gases produced by them.

im not sure they say they are non toxic but like i said they are three bucks i can experiment with them for a bit without exposing Spike to them

they are pretty much just small balls that swell when you get them wet. as they dry out they shrink back down and release the moisture into the air. then you can just add more water and they swell back up. you only have to do this once every two weeks or so so if they end up working well i will have to look into it more before i start suggesting others use them. ill have the chem lab at my school test the fumes and see if it is infact just water.

Sounds good, I'm all for trying new things as long as the proper care is being taken

They are designed to maintain the humidity in a closed environment. Something like a tank or tub isn't going to be as air tight as a Humidor. P.S. I have several humidors. Best bet is to work on your enclosure and humidify with the substrate.

it was just an ide like i said its $3 for a 2 once jar and i have a spare tank if they work cool if not whats $3
