    Breeding tips

    Hello every one, I just registered on this web-page a few days ago because i was hoping i could get some real time help with my breeding project.

    Anyway, I've been keeping my ball pythons for the last 2 years, and i thought it was about time to get some of them money back i lay out on this hobby. So I've been rotating my male though the females for quite some time now ( I believe i started rotating him at the beginning of November?), I have witnessed lockup on both of my females, and I've palpated them, feeling a few "bumps" in there. But since I'm an unexperienced breeder i fear that i might be fooling myself

    Is there any way i can tell that the breeding is successful, are there some major stages when i can tell for sure that the female carries egg or is it just an waiting game for me?

    //Sam

    I'm in the same boat as you are. I have a girl that was paired in November and has 'bumps' as well. This is my first clutch, so I too hope for the best.

    I've found this site really helpful to reference which stage of development you're in.

    Ok, before i introduced them i looked for "guides" this was one of the page i used, and i still return to it for extra help

    My females have showed similar steps as the "guide" mentions, i think both have been though the 'Developing Behavior', one of my females lay at the cold side, hanging with half her body from a shelf, the other one decided the take a bath, she just crawled into the water bowl as good as she could and chilled for a while. Still, the female that took a bath on several occasions also went though the 'Glow' phase, at least it looked like she did, brighter than normally... but that was before the cooling phase

    Best of luck to you to
