Keep your fingers crossed for baby Seymour!

Im pretty sure Ive posted briefly about the situation in another post, but for those who dont know a couple of weeks ago I resuced a very unhealthy and sickly looking baby Savannah monitor from a reptile shop. He was very dehydrated, skinny and cold, and in a very tiny cage. I know you should never buy a sick reptile no matter how sad it is, but I couldnt forgive myself if I left him to die there so figured that if worst came to worst and I couldnt bring him back to health he'd at least die in a better place then he was in. So I brought him home and made him an enclosure and gave him the temps and humidity he desperately needed.
The first couple of days I had him he didnt move from the spot I first put him and hardly even opened his eyes. I tried feeding him a couple of days later and he refused. But slowly he started coming to life! he started moving around and opening his eyes and flicking his tongue like a healthy monitor should. He even bit me! Started tail whipping, and hissing as well. I was so happy to see him like this instead of the lifeless state he in. The only concerning issue was, he still refused to eat.
However today when i was cuddling him to warm him up after his bath, he seem very interested in the smell of my gloves(as I was grabbing crickets in them earlier to feed my others monitors and geckos) so I offered him one to see what he'd do. He did not go for the cricket, but he opened his mouth and seemed to be waiting. I dropped the cricket in of his mouth and he ate it! I couldnt believe it! So hes finally eating but he'll only eat if I hold him and hand feed him. Hes still got a long way to go, but Im hoping with all my heart that he'll pull through and oneday be a big, active, garbage disposal just like my other two monitors. Please keep Seymour in your thoughts and keep your fingers crossed for this speacial little baby. Ive grown very attached to him and I am going to do everything in my power to help him live the life he deserves

I have an ornatus as well. He was captive bred here in Canada in 2008. I brought him home at 3 weeks old.

You can see a pic of him in the "Show your Monitors" thread.
