    cinny adult wont eat

ive had my cinny girl for about 4 months, i was feeding here live due to my inability to get frozen, now i have frozen and she wont eat, however she had not eaten the last live i attempted to feed her. The guy i got her from said she had been bred in the past, wondering if she could possibly gone off because she thinks it breeding season? if so how long should i let her go before worrying? I think she has been off feeding for 4 weeks now.

it is very possible that she thinks that it is breeding season. I wouldn't get too worried until she starts to loose weight. This is why a good scale is so important, it is hard to say how long a snake can safely go without food, but loosing large amounts of weight is a major indicator that it has been too long.

    Re: cinny adult wont eat

4 weeks is a drop in a bucket...it wouldn't be a stretch to say she won't eat again till spring or so. She may, she may not...don't let it worry you. Significant weight loss would be an indication that something could be wrong. Longest I've experience a ball off feed was nearly 10 months and the snake was fine. Ball pythons can be evil little creatures that take great pleasure in going off feed at the worst of times and making their human owners worry to death about them. They just toy with us, and once they see that we're on the verge of insanity and just can't take any more, they'll start eating again.
