    scars on the head....

ok so a few months ago i had a mite problem, and from it, my BP acquired some scars on his head from most likely trying to rub the mites off, well of course i PAM'd that mite situation, and it is over and done with long ago, and i thought maybe after a few sheds the scars would maybe go away, but this is his 3rd full shed since i first saw the scars and still, the scars look the same size. Anything i can do? would neosporin even help at this point and time?

With each new shed it will heal the scar more and more, as long as your snake seems fine and healthy leave him be. Never ever use neosporin on reptiles, its not good for them. Someone had a long explanation in another post last nite about how it softens the scales and causes them to rot away and fall off. Im pretty sure it was skiploader...but idr exactly.

I have a little normal female with a very noticeable scar on her head. Not sure how she got it but I have had her a year and it hasn't seemed to get any smaller.

Just like with us humans it depends on how much damage there is. Some scars will go away with time, others will not. I'm confident that it will at least diminish if it doesn't totally go away.

You can make sure that your snake has perfect living conditions: 88-92 degrees on one side of the tank, and 78-82 degrees on the other. Humidity levels between 40% & 60% on average and 60% - 80% during shed.

Perfect living conditions should help a snake heal, but there is no garentee and not much else that can be done.
