I think a big problem is people thinking we have a "right" to own these snakes. This isn't the second amendment folks. These are animals. Blaming the government about this, is like blaming an egg, for being layed. Too many times burms and retics have been sold to kids and people who have no clue what a 15 foot snake's needs are. I think the main culprits, are the irresponsible breeders who only want to crank out a profit, and sell to any Tom, richard, or Harry regardless of their constrictor IQ. Of course HSUS, and PETA, and all the other nuts are going to lobby hard for this. We've painted a bullseye on our chests. I really hope this doesn't get passed, and I really hope that we adopt a better stance on who should own a giant snake. Maybe we should take a hard look at the falconer's model.
