    feeding question

I defrosted, warmed up, and got a response from my BP. She snatched at the food, and now she just has it tucked away behind her, and she is just staring at me (even when I leave the room for 20 mins she stares out the front of her cage) Guarding her meal for later, or a picky eater? If/when do I take out the rodent, this is my first time feeding her.

    Re: feeding question

    Hi,

Well if you have long tongs you could try taking it out and re-heating it a bit.

But if you stick your hand in she is likely to mistake it for dinner and strike at it.

I'd leave it in overnight if you don't have tongs and then, next time, heat the head of the prey a bit more so it stays warmer for longer.

Lol.. I tried the long tong route and she first seemed like she was backing up to let me have it and then quickly struck out pretty far so I believe that's out. I just stuck a black pillowcase over the front left part so she can't see me. It's apparent she wants it for now anyway
