Retic stairing into heat lamp.. literally

Any one else have a retic that does this? It's like gets entranced by the heat coming off it. She'll climb up the wall and have her face IN the heat lamp for a few minutes at a time. I'm not worried about her "star gazing" because it's only when the lamp is on lol. I know she's not hungry she just ate a few days ago lmao. Just worried she's going to damage her eyes. That thing is bright as hell to me I cant imagine what it's like for her.

Weird, my retic doesnt have a heat lamp, but he does enjoy stairing at the ceiling fan when he comes out. I dont know if it is the light or the movement but he periscopes as high as he can to try and check it out.

My Burmese does this all the time. Seems normal IMO when you use heat lamps.

Early post, I don't know if it could damage there eyes though, hopefully we'll get a good chime in with that.

Well I'm downstairs but it still gets cold down here at night during the winter so I've got an electric oil heater that keeps the ambient temps at about 70. I've made her a sort of den on both sides out of some firewood for a more natural look. There's a heating pad under the 2 pieces of wood where she is mainly and the top makes a sort of basking platform, so no it's not.

I think 70 is alittle to low for the ambient temperature. I wouldn't go any lower than 75. Yea, I hate winter and I use to be in the basement also (didn't have snakes) but could easily feel the cool ness as I walked from upstairs to downstair's.
Maybe it's just a unique behavior your tic is doing? I would check the heating in the setup and made sure that the number's were right? Before it get's to cold from the winter. That's just me.

Hopefully it's just something unique that she does. The heater keeps my bedroom from dropping below 70 but inside of the cage she's got a 100 watt basking light and 2 uth's the. main one she uses is set at 88-89 (surface temp) and the one in the middle of the tank is set at 85 (surface as well) so she's got near perfect husbandry. I just was curious if anyone else had snakes that seem to stare into the sun.
