herpstat?
what is the difference between the herpstat pro and the herpstat 4 other then $20 price?

The Herpstat 4 has better circuits inside, and has the ability to regulate humidity. The Herpstat 4 also has a mechanical relay that will kill power to all outputs if there is a failure in the herpstats software or hardware. Much safer. I would go with the Herpstat 4.

Also the Herpstat 4 has grounded plugs while the Herpstat Pro has 2 prong plugs. The Herpstat 4 is Spyder Robotics newest product. I use them and love them.

You'll love it. They keep perfect temps and the menus system is really easy. I do suggest reading the manual though. It will make everything much easier and it's only 4-5 pages with pictures.

I was searching for the same info and didn't find many comparisons that I couldn't get from the specs of each unit. I went straight to the source and asked Spyder Robotics.
They told me that the Pro is being discontinued. The 4 has better code, has the grounded outlets and has the additional safety relay plus a few other features. I also asked about the network function on the Pro (I liked that idea) the answer was...maybe in the future that functionality may be added. I think it has the ability. (they send serial #'s to the units that way).
Spyder said hands down go for the 4.
