Whistling after shed?

Okay... after many struggles we have temps and humidity nailed after we moved. Ambient is about 82, hot side is about 88-90. Humidity is about 55%. Night drop is about 75-78 ish and 85 ish on the hot side with mostly stable humidity. We were using aspen and literally just switched to Cyprus mulch to stabilize things. Which brings me to the whistling. Dr. Google says this is a sign of an RI BUT he displays no other signs. No gapping or open mouth, no other sounds, never has even hissed, no excessive yawning, no bubbling of any kind, mouth looks perfect inside. He doesn't whistle before shedding but does after a shed, which he did last night. This is the second shed in a row that this has happened. Its also only heard when he's active. At rest, no whistle. Any thoughts? Maybe he just has a tiny amount of shed stuck around his nostils? Last time it lasted maybe a week then nothing. No sound coming from him at all.

Bump up the temps to about 92 at the hot spot if you can, sounds to me like stuck shed in the nose though. Try a nice long soak and leave the temps up for a couple weeks to be sure it's not RI.

Yeah, I've had a few that turn out to have a small piece of stuck shed inside the nose and it makes a little whistling sound lol.

It's not uncommon to have that issue during or after a shed, or when they are agitated or doing some sort of exertion. If I'm understanding you correctly he's made this noise before - correct?

Please do not soak him. If he displays other RI symptoms, or if the noise becomes constant, take him to a reptile vet.

He has. Right after his last shed for about a week. It became less and less then totally silent. He only does it when he's active and exploring. All curled up in his hide or just laying on us then no sound at all.

And we will take him directly in if it gets more frequent or he displays more symptoms. We can't soak this booger anyways. He hates it! So no worries there.

I guess I should clarify... After that 1-2 weeks post shed period he makes no sound what so ever.

Funny thing I just noticed my retic making a funny noise when he would breathe last night. But, then he shed last night for the first time for me. And, now I don't hear it anymore. I did hear alittle something but I heard this same noise when I took out my male granite yellow anaconda. It was me my very own nose was making the noise I heard with the tic,lol. But, the noise from yesterday was definately coming from the retic. He made the noise when he moved around on the bed.
If your bp is making this whistle noise even after shed. Then maybe a quick phone call to the herp vet would be in order? I wouldn't think you would have to make a appointment for something so minor?

Its only after a shed for a week or two max. Yesterday... no whistle. He shed late last night. Today... lots of whistle. When I held him during the tank clean he was whistling as he was exploring and crawling all over me, tongue flicking away. Right now curled up in his hide... nada. Totally silent. I'll place a call tomorrow and see what they say.
