Also, biting once makes a snake "aggressive" ?!?!?! It's a snake! Even the tamest of snakes can have a crappy day at bite! Can you imagine?! Say one of us reached in to pick up one of our normally happy, sweet snakes and got tagged. Do you think for one second we would be on here going, "I need to get rid of this snake, it's just too aggressive!" No! We would take a picture of the bite, post it with the icon and wonder what WE did wrong and how to correct it. My snake has actually slapped my hand with a completely closed mouth strike before when I have reached to get her, as if to communicate, "I don't really want to hurt you, but I REALLLY don't feel like coming out right now, please go away."
People REALLY confuse "aggression" and "defensiveness." To me, an aggressive animal would be one that snaps without any provocation, unintentional or otherwise. If your hand is anywhere near your snake, it can easily mistake you as a threat, therefore if it strikes, it is being defensive, not aggressive.
That preaching to the choir rant aside, this person is a criminal, and if I were that snake, I would be bitting the hell out of him. How is this not considered animal abuse? Because it isn't a furry animal? I hate that so many humans ruin the lives of other living things. It's complete negligence!! I check my snake EVERYDAY for scale nicks or abnormalities, burns, ANYTHING out of the ordinary. She had a piece of stuck shed once and it stressed me out so badly, I looked for skin infections every day and obsessively checked humidity until it came off with the next shed. If you aren't willing to give an animal the best, why even have it? It's not decoration!!!!
Just had to rant, I can't even stand people like this.
