    No I don't have one under the tank but I did put it right at the bottom of the side glass. Thanks for the link, I'll check it now

    A thermometer reads temps, a thermostat controls the under tank heater, which can exceed 130 degrees. You need both...

    Awesome! And yes - definitely get a t-stat!

    Also, what kind of thermometer are you using? The analog dials don't measure temps correctly. A lot of us here like Accurites from Walmart (about $12). These measure the hot side, the cool side, and humidity all in one digitally. They are nice. Just a thought....

    I ordered and am waiting for the t-stat

    Thanks, I'm going to get the Accurite on Sat after work! That sounds so much better than the stuff I have, I'm having nothing but trouble with them.

    I finally bought a timer too, so now I don't have to worry about whether or not I forgot to turn the light on or off! I was having trouble regulating the temps.

    So many things and so much to get used to!

    Good news, she ate for the first time with us last night without problems. Her breeder was feeding her live and I planned to feed her f/t mice, and she took it no problem
