    Snake's throat expanding

I saw a ball python in a shop doing this and figured it was an RI. I looked it up and found a video of another snake doing the exact same thing, but in the description of the video the guy says it isn't an RI. Has anybody else seen this type of thing before?

Mine do that all the time when they are coming out of shed and their nostrils are blocked. I freaked out the first time I saw it because it is usually accompanied with what i would call sneezing. After the snakes shed they no longer do it. At least thats my experance with it

I had a BP doing that and took her to the vet and she was treated for an RI. She no longer does that. I assumed it was mucus blocking her nostrils and when that cleared she was good as new. When I was doing research and trying to figure out what was wrong I found a thread in here where someone was talking about another species (I think it was womas but I could be wrong) that does it as a defense mechanism or something. I forget exactly what it said.
