I told myself I would never get another lizard/gecko because I hated dealing with feeders (crickets mostly), then I found crested geckos. My addiction has expanded ever since then. New Caledonian geckos are one of the best reptiles IMO, they are so easy and docile. I wouldn't risk getting something that your roommate hates like a spider or scorpion. Wait until you move out, no sense in risking it.
This is excellent advice! Repashy is so easy. You can order it and lots of other Gecko stuff from Pangea Geckos. And cresties are really personable little guys.

I would also respect your roommate and avoid a spider. Even if he doesn't go in your room and wouldn't really do something to it even though he says he might, I am sure there are things you wouldn't like him to do and he respects that and doesn't do it. You'll have plenty of time to get a T once you move out. That's just my opinion, but having roommates means at least a certain amount of mutual respect. And I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and very happy with a few geckos.
