Winter needs to end! Who are you waiting for?

Well, if you're someplace like me where the winter temps usually drop well under 40 degrees and out of most breeder's "safe to ship" temperature ranges, you gotta wait until it's warmer to recieve your new additions.

I'm waiting for three new additons, one being a species which I didn't think I would have been able to own for a good couple years down the road due to the cost of the snake and how essentially unavailable they are. I can't believe I got my little guy paid for and he's ready to get home when the temps are in warmer ranges (for my peace of mind: the breeder said he could ship in current temps but I want them a tad warmer).

So...who else is playing the wait game for their new one(s) to arrive?

(Sorry if there's already a very similar thread somewhere)

This is one of the many reasons why I love living in Florida. Today's low 54 degrees with a high of 77.

I'm only waiting on two things currently.

    1. To get my most recent girl to start eating.

    and..

    2. To get a house and build a tegu enclosure before the end of the summer.

Re: Winter needs to end! Who are you waiting for?

I live in Wisconsin, where the temps tend to drop below -10 in wintertime, so shipping anything live is out of the question for 1/4 of the year. This winter has been pretty mild though. Just got our second snowfall this morning. Last year this time there was 5-6+ feet of snow, people trapped in their houses, cars buried.....
Luckily my house is warm, so my new baby is comfy cozy. Gonna go get it sexed today so I can give it a fitting name.

Usually in the winter I only buy local and hold off until spring/summer time to look around online. Now I'm really intrigued as to what species you are waiting for?

I'm shipping to AR tomorrow, the weather looks fine.
I guess it depends on where you are in AR.

I'll be posting pics of him when he's here: he's a species of python though

It's been good, but the lows have still be in the 20-35s tops, and I like receiving snakes when it's at least in the 40's. Call me crazy, but for my piece of mind I like it a tad warmer (anticipation is a good thing I think!)

Re: Winter needs to end! Who are you waiting for?

Winter hasn't even started well yet! I'm not ready for warmer weather, I love winter and the colder weather, and this summer was brutal. But then, I'm not waiting on the delivery of any animals, or waiting to ship any, though I do have one animal left I need to put up for sale at some point, but I'm not in any rush.

I just put down a deposit on a ball python morph I don't currently have and I will be using the rest of the winter months to pay her off. I'm also not going to spill the beans until she gets here but I'm super excited.
