I've run flexwatt strips in series, parallel, and alone of course. The only issue I've run into is one time I overloaded my herpstat and that was just me being stupid.
yeah that will work fine as long as you don't go over the length limit for what ever size flexwatt you are using. Polarity is irrelevant with flexwatt's operation so as I said just don't go over the limit and everything will work.

im goin going with 3in flex watt in width and 12in in lenth per shelf "3in at a 1ft is 6 watts times 10 im lookin at 60 watts alone in the heat tape right now trying to figure out the wattage for the wire"

well that certainly isn't enough to blow out a thermostat like I did. I use 12 gage wire that one time I was using 10. but I have way too much flexwatt in parallel.
