Best way to accept payments online?

I was going to use Wepay because it looks neat, the fees are minimal, it's easy to sign up, you don't need a physical website address as you do with Google Checkout and they have decent online reviews compared to most. Only thing is, they do not allow transactions for live animals.

Now, I have never used any online payment system and as you can see I just named Google Checkout. Does anyone here use Google Checkout? I will eventually set up a website, but wanted to get the ball rolling on the payment side of things because I know you have to verify your accounts etc etc.

    Who do you recommend?

A lot of places use PayPal. Its great all you have to do is give the customer a link or your email address and they can pay online. Also when every you get a website going you can just integrate your paypal right into your website without having any hassel.

I would use paypal, it's great and really is the best way. If the customer sets it to payment owed there's no fee. All you need to accept payments is an email address.

I know a lot of people use paypal and that's what I have always used to pay people. I have heard though, that people can complain about you and get their money back. I'm not sure if it's true, but it does worry me.

I have heard that too. That people can dispute a payment and just get their money back + keep the snake they bought from you.

Getting a bunch of personal payments is a good way to get your PP account closed.

PayPal is probably the top one right now.

    As for chargebacks...
make sure you mail the package to the address listed on the paypal receipt. Have a tracking number so they can't claim non receipt. Have a sales ad/receipt that shows what the customer bought (it's best if you have a discussion about the animal via email, the email they use for paypal) so they can't claim not as described or not authorized.

PayPal is #1 in terms of online payment processors right now. It has its pros and cons but it's definitely the biggest.
