    Bolivian Boa...have one?

When we got this little girl at the reptile show on August 6, 2011, the girl and her husband who bred her said she was just a plain Bolivian Boa. She'd grow to about 6 feet, small for a boa. Agreed!
I have looked up this type of snake and found some good info...but it just doesn't seem like many people have them!

I wanted to name her Ghost, but she's the hubby's (mostly) so he named her Platinum..Platy for short.

She's friendly, and a healthy eater. She is very pink, all the time. She has a pink sheen. Very pretty. Can't even hardly ,tell when she's going to shed except when her eyes get cloudy cuz she's so pink! The others they had at the booth that sold her were of varying color depths. Our girl was the lightest (most ghostly and silver...and pink) one.

I am getting a new camera soon...these pics are terrible and in no way do her justice.

Anyway, anyone else have one of these little pretties?

14 snakes, 12 bugs, 1 skink, 1 frog, 2 dogs, and tons of fresh and saltwater fish. I've also begun snake rescue. What a ride!

In the 2nd pick I can sorta make out the pink sheen you described. Really cool looking boa!

Here is a youtube clip i found on them a while ago.

    http://youtu.be/JdGiy1TXd0A

It just really surprises me how so many people don't have one! She was only $90 bucks. I would think all the peeps who love axanthic would love her, since she does keep her color!

And i'll get more pics eventually. As soon as i am able to get a new camera there are going to be hoards of pics of them all...muwaha!

The Bolivian boa, Boa Constrictor Amarali (BCA), or also known as the Short -tailed boa, have been hard to come by, but a few breeders have been working with some new, established lines, to make them more available.
