The most interesting incident was actually a wild snake. I was driving down a side road near a new construction development with open fields nearby, when I noticed a snake writhing around on the road, wildly. I thought at first that it had been hit by a car, but stopped to investigate. Step 1 was to identify that it wasn't a rattler, so I checked the tail, and then my brain had a few moments of confusion, because I couldn't find the head.
Finally, what I was looking at registered--the snake had a soda can on its head. It was a bullsnake.

I picked the poor guy up, whereupon he hissed menacingly (and hollowly, lol). He was wedged in there so good, I had to take him to a vet clinic to have the can removed--they had to cut it off. Inside, they found a deceased young mouse.

He was a docile sweetheart once the can was off, and we took him to a park a couple of miles away to release him...no sense releasing him where we got him, as it was all becoming condominiums.
